The Lynn Gross Discovery School is busy with excitement as we embrace this new school year. We greet returning friends and look forward to making new friends.

Bulletin boards and showcases highlight simple concepts and complex concepts. Search for themes and topics in math, science and social studies. Read how students creatively introduce themselves in a variety of ways “All About Me”.
Classroom doors are decorated with one of the many beautiful places in Europe. Look for your favorite places.
Upcoming school wide events include Cook Shop Classroom, a Halloween celebration and Student Council Elections. Good luck to all of the candidates.
Several general education and special education classrooms will be energized as students, teachers, parent coordinator, and parents participate for the first time in the2011-2012 CookShop Classroom.
This exciting grant program is sponsored by Food Bank for New York City www.foodbanknyc.org . Students will join in hands-on cooking activities that promote exploration, investigation, communication, literacy, mathematics, science, nutrition and the eating of healthy foods. CookShop Classroom will be filled with enjoyment and with learning. Students will strengthen and develop good lifelong eating habits. Bon Appétit to all.
