Art
P.S. 206’s Visual Art program is led by Mrs. Brown. This program is new, and this  is the second year it is being implemented. Mrs. Brown follows the NYC Blueprint for the arts curriculum which includes five strands of learning: Art Making, Literacy in the Visual Arts, Making Connections, Community and Cultural Resources, Careers and Lifelong Learning. These five strands are practiced through the following visual art disciplines: drawing, painting, collage, printmaking, 2D media, and digital media.

Music

The Kindergarten-Five Music program at P.S. 206 uses the following five strands of learning in music: Music Making, Music Literacy, Making Connections, Community and Cultural Resources, and Careers and Life long Learning.  These strands enable our students to learn music in such a way they they understand the elements of music, the process by which compsers, arrangers, and performers create music, the similarities and differences in music of various eras and geographic locations, and the musical and cultural influences that have helped create American Music.  Our program inspires them with a desire to understand, explore, and appreciate all kinds of music.
