Math Coach The responsibilities of an Elementary School Math Coach are varied. The main focus of the job is to support the teachers in their implementation of the Everyday Math lessons. A coach can model lessons, explain an unfamiliar algorithm and make suggestions for improving instruction. Another responsibility is to present Professional Development to the teachers. At P.S. 206Q the Math Coach is part of the Instructional Cabinet and works with the administrators. Another aspect of the job is to hold Math Workshops for parents. It is an exciting and challenging job.Math CurriculumKindergarten-Second grade will be implementing a new math program, HSP Math. Grades Three-Five will continue to use Everyday Mathematics.
