The Queens School for Career Development is a very special school that serves over 500 students who live with a wide array of disabling conditions. The students are supported and benefit from a dedicated and knowledgeable staff who routinely go above and beyond the parameters of their jobs to intervene with issues of community, well-being, and advocacy. The school continues to broaden the curriculum and special classes so as to further the skills of the students. Our goal is to prepare students for life outside of high school and for success as adults. We explore careers, provide direct instruction in a wide array of technical work experiences, and numerous programs to enhance academic skills. We also provide a similar experience for those students who attend this school and are on the autism spectrum. For all of our students, technology is taking on a more prominent role in our instructional methodologies and is providing us with the actual achievement data we need to be more prescriptive and analytical about our students intellectual growth and development.
We have an active parents group and a wonderful group of staff who are committed to the arts. We have a dedicated and intelligent guidance staff and therapists who truly know and practice their craft. Out office is run efficiently and all mandates which result in increased resources for the school are adhered to. Our administrative staff is talented and vigilant and insure that high standards are maintained throughout the education career of each child.
We are proud of this school and remain eager to share all future successes with our learning community.
