The Queens School for Career Development (QSCD) is a secondary school serving approximately 500 students in Special Education programs.  QSCD has two off-sites; one at the High School for Law Enforcement and Public Safety and on at Edison High School.  All QSCD sites are located in the Jamaica area of Queens.
The main site is also home to Queens Academy (an alternative high school) as well as the Queens Home Instruction Office.
The academic program at QSCD is a comprehensive one, providing students with classroom, shop, and work study experiences.  Thoughout the program, emphasis is placed upon the development of the knowledge, skills, behaviors, and attitudes necessary for future success in the adult world - at home, in the work place, and in the community.
Students in Standardized Assessment have the opportunity to participate in a full range of academic classes and are eligible to earn High School credits towards a High School diploma.  Academic intervention services have been incorporated into the program for all students to meet IEP goals and objectives.  Students in the Alternate Assessment program participate in classes focusing on functional academic skills, communication, and daily living skills.
