Welcome to Fourth Grade!
Dear Parents/Guardian,
I am delighted to have your child in our class this year. With your encouragement, your child will be a part of many exciting and rewarding experiences this academic year.
I have developed a classroom discipline plan which will help every student to make good decisions about their behavior and to learn in a positive, nurturing classroom environment. The plan below outlines our classroom rules, possible rewards and consequences for appropriate and inappropriate behaviors.
Rules: 1. Follow directions.
2. Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself
3. Be respectful
4. Listen while others are speaking
5. Use quiet voices and kind words
To encourage students to follow these classroom rules, I will recognize appropriate behavior with praise and good notes or phone calls home. The students will be able to have lunch with the teacher, trips to the treasure chest on Fridays, and class parties for good behavior.
If a student chooses to break a rule, the following steps will be taken;
First time a student
Breaks a rule: Warning
Second time: 2nd Warning
Third time: 5 minutes working away from the group
Third time: 10 minutes working away from the group and write a letter home or a phone call
Severe Cause: Student removal, send to the dean’s office
Please be assured that our goal is to work with you to ensure the success of your child this year. Please read this classroom discipline plan with your child.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Goodson
