ESL (English as a Second Language)

     

    English as a Second Language

     All ESL students are preparing for the NYSESLAT (New York State English as a Second Language Test) which takes place in May.

    The students will use various strategies to gain proficiency in the four modalities tested by the NYSESLAT:  
              
    *Listening
    *Speaking
    *Reading 
    *Writing.


        ~The English Language Learners (ELL) in classes 6-4, 7-4 & 8-4 are using the Language Program from Pearson Publishing, for their 90 minute ESL/ELA block. 
    ~ English Language Learners that are in other classes receive either push-in or pull-out ESL services.
