  • Our Mission
The Morris Middle School community is committed to middle level reform that is responsive to the developmental needs of adolescents. We are dedicated to affirming the importance of school, parent and community to enhance our learning environment. Our school population closely reflects the rich cultural diversity of New York City as a whole. With a student population that is racially, ethnically and socio-economically diverse, we seek to engage students actively in their learning and promote respect for differences. We are dedicated to creating a learning environment that develops the whole child, including his or her self-esteem and sense of personal worth.
  • Special Programs
Honors program with accelerated courses for high school credit; Magnet program for talented students offers innovative instruction in the schools of Journalism, Visual Arts, and Performing Arts. Literacy Blocks are offered in the sixth and seventh grade to help improve reading and writing skills.
  • Extracurricular Activities
The Morris Leaders Club promotes leadership and community service. Our Debate and Math teams are outstanding and compete successfully throughout NYC. Intramural sports teams are available, as well as a variety of afterschool clubs and tutoring programs.
  • Our Community
We have partnerships with Staten Island Mental Health, Museum of Modern Art, Marvel Comics, Goodhue Center, SI Institute of Arts & Science, JCC and St. John's University. Project Power and our Mentoring Program link our students to a variety of community leaders.
