Our main partner, New York City Outward Bound, brings the nationally-recognized expertise and educational philosophy of Outward Bound and Expeditionary Learning approach to Marsh Avenue Expeditionary Learning School.  New York City Outward Bound has worked with more than 250 schools throughout the city to support demanding academic learning.  The Expeditionary learning approach combines rigorous academic content and real world projects – learning expeditions- with active teaching and community involvement.  It focuses on teaching in an engaging way, and builds character and collaboration through physical and intellectual challenges.
