    May Newsletter from the Parent Coordinator

              Wow! Two months to go! This year has flown by and before you know it, summer will be here. The coming weeks will be busy ones so please continue to support your children in their educational endeavors.

              The Family Book Club is currently reading The Jungle by Upton Sinclair. The next meeting is scheduled for Friday, June 5th at 8:20 am in the Library, All are invited to attend and new members are always welcome! Please call me at the number below if you need to borrow a copy of this month’s selection.

              PTA elections and Leadership Team nominations & elections will take place at the next PTA meeting on Wednesday, May 27th at 7:30 PM in the Conference Center. All offices are open.  Refreshments will be available at 7 PM. Please come out and support the candidate of your choice.

              Thank you to all parents & guardians who participated in the Learning Environment Survey conducted by the Department of Education. A special warm thank you to Laurie Daghestani who handed out flyers at morning arrival as a reminder of the survey’s importance.

              The Barnes & Noble Book Fair to benefit the Petrides School takes place on Friday, May 15th, Saturday, May 16th & Sunday, May 17th. A percentage of every purchase made using the coupon that has been sent home with all students will be donated to our school (with the exception of gift cards). Additional coupons are available in the main office.

              Family Fun Night will take place on the Petrides Field on Friday, May 29th. This event will feature a variety of fun games and activities. Tickets are $5 per person or $20 per family (up to six people) to cover the cost of the activities and will be on sale soon. The concession stand will be open and a movie will be shown at sundown on a 28 foot, inflatable screen.
