Dear Elementary Parents,
It is hard to believe it is November already! It was great to see so many of you at the PTA Halloween Bash. My thanks to our amazing PTA who created a day of wonder for our K-5 students.
Our first PBIS assembly is scheduled for Friday, November 6, 2009. We will be honoring several students in each class for following our PAWS mantra in the different areas of the school building. We will recognize students each month, so if your child is not rewarded at this assembly, there will be other opportunities for us to celebrate the fine work of our children. We ask that the children wear their assembly day shirt or a white shirt on this day.
The 5th Grade New York State Social Studies Assessment will take place on November 16 and 17. The children have been preparing in school. You can help at home by reading non-fiction text, including current events, non-fiction books, maps and charts, with your child.
Report cards will be distributed to students in grades 1-5 on Monday, November 16, 2009. Students in Kindergarten will receive a progress report. Parent Teacher Conferences will be conducted on Tuesday, November 17, 2009. Open School Week activities will also be planned for this week. More information will be sent home shortly.
