Some exciting news...

Congratulations to Chantal Venetal, Olivia Ambroise, Claire Burfeind, and Eve Daniels for qualifying and competing in the Gymnastics Individual Championships on February 10th at the Aviator Sports Complex.  Eve Daniels received the Bronze medal for vault, finished in 6th place for the all-around division, and for the second straight year made the state team which will compete against teams from around the country in Albany next month.

On January 18, 2013, New Dorp High School's Virtual Enterprise Team, Solarity, under the direction of Mr. Paul Presti, dominated and came in 1st place in the NYC Citywide Business Plan Competition.

Also, The VE Law and Insurance Team came in 2nd in the Regionals and 4th in the NYC Citywide Business Plan Competition. 
The Law and Insurance Team: Manny Alvarado, Edward Castillo, David Grace, Mohammad Hossein, Brittany Howell, Medina Jahovic, Mitchel Voloshin, Taylor Williams, Yilin Zhou

UPDATE
Both teams competed in the Nationals and the Law and Insurance Team came in 2nd in the nation, and Solarity is awaiting confirmation on coming in 4th in the nation!

Dorothy Mai has been selected as one of the ten finalists in the 12th Annual Independence of the Judiciary Essay Contest. As a result, she is entitled to intern for one week with a Justice of the Supreme Court during the mid-winter or summer recess. She also earned a $100 American Express gift card. A ceremony will be held on February 4th in Manhattan.
