Our Mission
It is the mission of IS 162 to establish an environment that will allow our students to become self-reliant and capable of developing and applying their skills and abilities to succeed in all areas of life. We strive to provide a safe and orderly atmosphere that will have a positive effect on students' learning. We will set challenging goals that will enable our students to reach for high academic achievements. Our school environment recognizes the unique characteristics of each individual, his or her needs, and the importance of providing the guidance and support to grow socially, emotionally and academically. The administration, staff and parents will work together to implement a plan that will encompass all the ingredients necessary to successfully educate, and encourage our students to become productive citizens and lifelong learners.
