In Physics, students have been learning about motion and forces. In class, they perform inquiry-based activities that lead to discussions of physics terms and relationships. Then they perform experiments to apply their knowledge to a new situation. The formal lab report from marking period one was about the accelerated motion of a marble rolling down an incline. In this report, students recorded distance and time measurements, constructed a graph, and analyzed the graph to describe the type of motion present. Topics that will be covered for the second marking period include, Newton’s laws of motion, projectile motion, circular motion, gravity, momentum, potential energy, and kinetic energy.
