"Ocean Beach," Bryan Brager, Fifth Grade, PS 36

Ocean Beach

Faraway in my very own island
Lies a beach with an ocean that is pearl blue
Sand that is lightly coated like the burning of morning toast
The sailboats that are cloud white with a big gold horn, too
The chairs on the beach lay perfectly still
The people relax like the sunset in a purple moon
The boardwalk, pale as could be
The reefs and the divers stay here for a while
The palm trees dancing like the moving green grass
And the silent sounds of bluebirds chirping a tender tone
That's what it's like on my island, which sits on the heart of my crown
