"An Eternal Rainbow," Nahyian Elias, Eighth Grade, IS 141Q

We are inches taller and years wiser
Yet these moments embedded in our past lay forever
Moments when we all shed tears together or shared choruses of laughter
We are one, yet we are everywhere and eternal
We bask in our golden memories
We cry when another cries
We help when someone falls
We love when we say goodbye, and that love is unconditional
And when it seems like the clouds are still
We know that they are drifting
And when it seems like the rivers are silent
We know that they are whispering
We know that no matter how alone we may feel
We are never too far apart
It doesn't have to rain so we can see the rainbow
Because if each of our souls were painted a different color
We'd be the rainbow itself
