"The Uneaten Cheesecake," Christy Ng, Sixth Grade, PS 122Q

Sunday night
My mom bought cheesecake for
My selfless neighbor
Uncle Hank
Like a father to me
I rang the doorbell
As I looked into the windows
I could tell that the
Lights were off
I felt the cool breeze
As it danced around me
I ring a second time
No one answers
A new night has come
The next day
I ring the doorbell
And someone opens the door
A stranger to me but a
Brother to Uncle Hank
He said Uncle Hank died
I felt the tears behind my eyes
Getting ready to burst
I couldn´t hold it much longer
Clutching to my mom
I start to cry
All I had
Left was a picture
An uneaten cheesecake.
