My name is David Shapiro. I was a student at Halsey Junior High School in Queens, NY. I am writing about a teacher, Ms. Gelfand. This was my English teacher, as well as my director for 2 school plays. Never has anyone put so much love into her teaching and students. She awoke our love for language and the art of theater. Since her classes and plays, I went on to minor in theater in college, professionally act on screen and on stage, and have a deep love for the arts. I share that with younger people, and will hold Ms. Gelfand in my heart for life. Thank you.
