I'd like to personally thank Ms. Betty Golpe, a teacher at P224@710 in Bayside.
When my daughter was 3, she was a student in Ms. Golpe's class. (Miss Betty). As Sophia is too young to write this, I thought I would take this opportunity to thank Miss Betty through your campaign. My daughter now attends kindergarten in our local public school. It is because of Betty that Sophia was able to learn and overcome some early issues.
Betty has such a big heart and incredible devotion to her young students. She is certified to teach ABA (applied behavioral analysis) and works miracles with her young charges. Betty guided my daughter's behaviors and helped her to learn. Betty's style and training helps these children to focus on the material while she redirects behaviors that may interfere with learning.
I absolutely love this woman and miss her tremendously. All children - with special needs or without - should be fortunate enough in their early lives to be blessed with such a teacher. She loves these children and wants them to succeed.
I hope you can honor Betty Golpe for her dedication to children with special needs.
