Mrs. La Vacca, Fifth Grade Teacher, PS 62Q

Hi my name is Ashley Mohanlall. I am ten years old in the fifth grade at Public School 62 (P.S. 62) in Richmond Hill, Queens. I would like to thank one of my teachers. Her name is Ms. La Vacca. I would like to thank her because she helped me to understand my struggles better. For example, she helped me to understand parts in math that I didn't understand.

She helped me understand fractions. Ms. La Vacca physically helped the class and me. She drew a picture of a pizza and sliced it into and fractions. She used the pizza as an example. She explained how if she usually eats 2 slices of pizza of an 8 slice pie. So if she sliced a pie into 16 slices she's now eating 4 slices but still the same amount.

I would also like to thank her because she helped me in my ELA. She helped me because every day and night my class and I get a bunch of ELA homework. Also in about 2 weeks is my ELA test. I am really confident I'll get if not a 4 a 3+. Ms. LaVacca has inspired me very much.
