Although I would have never taken Physics had my guidance counselor not strongly suggested it to me, if I didn't I would've missed out on having one of the best teachers in New York City.
Mr. Steven Scharf was my Physics teacher, but he was not your average teacher. If you had problems in the class and needed extra help, Mr. Scharf was willing to give up his lunch period to tutor you. He found a way to make physics interesting and interactive—using his students and their quirks to make up problems for us to practice with. He never failed to make us laugh, yet at the same time he proved that he truly knew physics and was much more knowledgeable about physics then most teachers are in their respective subjects.
Mr. Scharf taught me more than physics, he taught me how to manage my time, study efficiently, and how to be a much better student than I ever would have been if not for his class. His class was one I would look forward to each day, and I am honored to say that Mr. Scharf was my Physics teacher.
