The New York City Department of Education is currently updating its substitute teaching application process. At this time, no new applications will be accepted unless authorized by a principal. Please check back in November 2009 for the revised application process and the requirements to be considered for a day-to-day substitute position. All day-to-day substitutes must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree, be eligible to work in the United States, and be able to communicate in standard written and oral English.
