The Office of Teacher Recruitment and Quality regularly hosts both in-person campus information sessions and online information sessions for prospective teachers. These sessions are a great way to learn more about teaching in New York City and the application and hiring process. Please check back frequently as we will continue to update our schedule of visits in the coming months.
Campus Information Sessions
Please contact your student teaching advisor or the Office of Career Services at your university/college to get specific attendance information. Applicants cannot attend unless they are a student at that university/college and have been invited to the event.

Online Information Sessions
If you do not live in the New York City area or are not able to attend a campus information session, please join us for an online information session. Recruitment representatives are available to answer questions at the end of each presentation.

Recruitment Fairs
The Office of Teacher Recruitment and Quality hosts several recruitment fairs during the summer months to assist new teachers in securing a school-based teaching position. These events provide teacher candidates the opportunity to meet directly with hiring representatives from a variety of schools across New York City.
**There are no recruitment fairs scheduled at this time.
Because space is limited, these events are by invitation only. If you do not receive a bar-coded invitation from the Office of Teacher Recruitment and Quality via email, you will not be admitted into the event.
As the number of invitations extended is based on the number of principals who register to attend, invitations are sent on a rolling basis; some applicants may be invited up to 48 hours prior to an event. All highly qualified candidates in the New Teacher Finder are selected randomly from the candidate pool to fill invitation slots.
While these events are a great opportunity for applicants to meet directly with school hiring leaders, we strongly recommend that applicants be proactive and reach out to schools and principals directly. Not all schools choose to hire teachers through recruitment fairs, so it is important to reach out to principals through additional channels. There are many resources on this site that can assist you in conducting your research and outreach.
For more information on the application process, please review our Application Fact Sheet.
Each recruitment fair has a corresponding application deadline. If the application deadline for priority consideration for a recruitment fair has already passed, we still recommend submitting your completed application as soon as possible as limited attendance spots may become available as the event approaches.
