Salary and Benefits

Teachers of Career and Technical Education subjects are eligible for the same competitive salary and benefits package that apply to teachers of other subjects.  For more information on general teacher salary and benefits, including the teacher salary schedule applicable to the 2008-2009 school year, please click on the "Salary and Benefits" tab above.

As with teachers of other subjects, CTE teachers earn more based on experience ("Salary Step") and coursework above a bachelor's degree ("Salary Differential").  However, CTE teachers of subjects in the following areas (aka "trade teachers") also have the opportunity to qualify for a higher salary step and salary differential by substituting their years of work experience in their CTE area of expertise for prior teaching experience and academic degrees and/or coursework.

  •  Agriculture
  • Health Occupations
  • Trade Subjects
  • Family and Consumer Services
  • Technical Subjects
