Current NY State Education Students

As a current New York State education student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate education program, you have the opportunity to teach in the country’s most innovative urban school system.  As long as you will have completed your program and passed all certification exams by August 2009 and your school is applying for certification on your behalf, you are eligible to teach in New York City public schools for the 2009-10 school year.

You must also provide a letter, approved by your college or university, stating that you are on track to complete your certification requirements before the beginning of the school year.  If  you are unable to obtain a letter, you can provide a copy of  your student transcript as long as it demonstrates that you have completed, or are in the process of completing, your student teaching requirement.  You can attach a copy of the letter or your transcript as part of the online application.
