The Teacher Professional Development (PD) and Student Opportunities webpages provide upcoming, citywide opportunities for teachers and students. These pages are organized by school level to help school staff members find targeted information. All Schools:  Encourage Your AP to Register for Assistant Principal Conference in January

In order to support assistant principals (APs) with their work in grades 2, 7, and 10, the NYCDOE will hold a series of conferences for APs this January. Each conference will take place from 2:00–6:00pm at Stuyvesant High School (345 Chambers Street in Manhattan) and will include a keynote speaker, breakout sessions, and remarks from Chancellor Fariña. If your school has students in the targeted grades, you should encourage your AP(s) to register and choose breakout sessions by December 24 using the following links: APs who work with students in grade 10 are invited to attend on January 15 register here; APs who work with students in grade 7 are invited to attend on January 20 register here; APs who work with students in grade 2 are invited to attend on January 22 register here.


After School Professional Development Program

All teachers are eligible to take "P" In-Service courses from the New York City After School Professional Development Program (ASPDP). In-Service courses offer teachers high-quality, convenient, low-cost alternatives to college courses that may be applied toward salary differentials and New York State professional development requirements. Courses are designed to improve student achievement through the professional development of teachers. Courses are also offered to secretaries for salary advancement.
