2012 DOE Sustainability Coordinator Training

 

At the end of the 2010 - 2011 academic year, the Office of Sustainability offered the first sustainabiltiy coordinator training to help schools accomplish our collective goals for energy conservation, recycling, ecology and the integration of sustainability concepts into the curricula. The 2012 Sustainability Coordinator Training will provide more resources and sustainability plan implementation ideas!

The Sustainabiltiy Coordinator Training is co-sponsored with the United Federation of Teachers (UFT) and is designed to clearly define the role of the Sustainabiltiy Coordinator, and to allow Sustainability Coordinators to hear directly from our partners on what resources are available to help them succeed in their role. The DOE Office of Sustainability thanks the UFT for hosting this event.

We strongly encourage all Sustainabiltiy Coordinators to attend the training and receive their Certificate of Completion. Prior approval from principals is needed to RSVP.  An OP-201 Form requesting a non-attendance day must be submitted  to principals in order to provide for substitute teacher coverage where needed.  This training will be offered on three dates where dates are assigned to specific districts as shown below:

January 10: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12
February 7: 7, 9, 11, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 & 32
February 10: 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 & 31

Sustainability Coordinators will receive this message in an e-mail with an RSVP link for planning purposes for each of the assigned dates.
