NYC DOE Sustainability Initiative, Green Schools Alliance
and ConEdison are partnering to bring you the 2012 -2013 NYC Public Schools Green Cup Challenge!
This year's award pool is $100,000 with a different prize structure where schools will get funds based on the kwh saved. Top performers by greatest % reduction from baseline will receive additional funds.
We are making it easy for schools by doing the baseline calculations for each registered school. All you have to do is read the meters every week, conserve energy and report consumption on the Green Cup Challenge website! The Green Cup Challenge will start on November 5th with first meter reading and end on December 3rd with the last meter reading.
When it comes to conserving energy, more schools participating in Green Cup Challenge means more savings. We all win when we compete together so register now!
Principals, Sustainability Coordinators, Teachers, Parents and Custodian Engineers are encouraged to coordinate the registrations to avoid multiple entries for the same building. Register for 2012 -2013 Green Cup Challenge by October 26, 2012
The 2012 New York City Public Schools Green Cup Challenge includes an optional video competition amongst the registered schools. Videos must be submitted by November 19, 2012. The video competition winner will win $1,500!
