NYCDOE Energy Efficiency Calendar Competition
We are excited to announce the art contest for the twelve month energy efficiency calendar! Thirteen winners will be chosen representing each month of the year and the Grand Prize for the calendar cover. The submission deadline is May 3, 2012.
Cash Prizes for DSNY's Golden Apple Awards Winners!
Up to 90 schools can win cash prizes by demonstrating exemplary school recycling programs, waste reduction efforts, clean-up projects or gardening programs. Complete descriptions and documentation of your projects must be submitted

The Plan for Sustainability
In order to continue to be the leader in sustainable education and operation of sustainable facilities, DOE plans to double its annual recycling by 2013, to reduce green house gas emissions by 30% by 2017 from DOE buildings and operations, to provide sustainable curriculum resources to principals and teachers, to participate in citywide plaNYC initiatives and to set up programs to increase water efficiency.
