NYC Connected Foundations is designed to increase college and career readiness skills and access to and use of broadband Internet by New York City high school students, particularly those who have fallen behind in high school or previously dropped out of school. Upon successful completion of a digital literacy course called Digital Literacies, also known as DIG/IT, participating students receive a free computer and become eligible to purchase discounted high-speed Internet services for their home.
Through this work, Connected Foundations aims to bridge the digital divide, increase family involvement in schools, and enable online learning at home and blended instruction in the classroom.
