BEDFORD STUYVESANT NEW BEGINNINGS CHARTER SCHOOL

Annual Site Visit Report 2010-2011
Annual Site Visit Report 2011-2012
The Annual Site Visit report describes what the reviewers saw at the school -- what life is like there. The report identifies some of the strengths in the school, as well as areas where improvement is needed.

Annual Comprehensive Review (ACR) 2012-2013
The Annual Comprehensive Review (ACR) investigates three primary questions: is the school an academic success; is the school a fiscally sound, viable organization; and is the school in compliance with its charter and all applicable laws and regulations. To ascertain matters of sustainability and strategic planning, the Office of School Design and Charter Partnerships (OSDCP) team inquires about the school’s plans for its next charter term. This review is conducted by analyzing student performance data and collecting and evaluating school-submitted documents during the academic school year, and in some cases, visiting the school. The ACR report outlines evidence found during this review.

Renewal Report 2014-2015
The renewal report describes the performance of a charter school over the course of its charter term on academic achievement, educational environment, financial/organizational viability, and board capacity. Findings from a multi-day site visit conducted at the school are also described in the report. A renenwal report answers three criticial questions: 1) Is this school an academic success?, 2) Is this school an operationally and fiscally viable organization?, 3) Is this school in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations? The report also contains the Chancellor's recommendation on whether or not the school's charter should be renewed and the length for which it should be renewed (up to five years). This recommendation does not become a finalized decision until it is approved by the New York State Board of Regents.
