Charter Notifications

Under § 2857, Article 56 of the Charter School Act of 1998, the charter entity must provide notification at each significant stage of the chartering process. In order to gather input about charter schools in the community, the DOE facilitates the following types of public hearings:

  • New Charter Applicants
  • Charter Revisions
  • Charter Renewals
  • Facilities Sitings
All hearings are open to the public, and public comment is collected both during and after the hearing. Public comment regarding facilities sitings can also be submitted through public comment phone lines for each borough:
