Expanded Success Initiative - Request for Providers
The Fund for Public Schools seeks organizations with demonstrated experience in producing college and career success outcomes for Black and Latino young men to be listed as approved providers to high schools selected as part of the Expanded Success Initiative, a key educational component of New York City's Young Men's Initiative (YMI).

Support for YMI is being provided by the Open Society Foundations and Bloomberg Philanthropies through grants to the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City and The Fund for Public Schools. For more information and an application, please click here.

Summer Learning Pilot Program – Request for Applications
The Fund for Public Schools, in collaboration with the NYC Department of Education and the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development, invites elementary, middle, and K-8 schools and youth development organizations to form partnerships to deliver creative, engaging, and fun summer learning programs that support academic growth and youth development, promote attendance and engagement, involve families as partners, and encourage health and fitness.

Six to twelve school/CBO partnerships will be selected to participate in year one of this three-year initiative. For more information and an application, click here.

Leadership Development & Scholarship Opportunities for Students
High school juniors and seniors can apply for the Bank of America Student Leaders program. The program’s goal is to cultivate and develop the next generation of community leaders through two components: an eight-week paid internship in the summer of 2012 with a nonprofit organization designed to provide opportunities for the students to develop and apply leadership skills through hands-on work experience, and a week-long, all-expense paid Student Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C., July 15-20, 2012. The Summit introduces students to aspects of civic, social and business leadership. Visit www.bankofamerica.com/neistudentleaders for more information and an application.

In 2012, Seinfeld Scholarships will be awarded to seniors graduating from New York City public high schools located in Bronx. Through the Seinfeld Scholarship, recipients receive a four-year scholarship of up to $10,000 to any college or university of the student’s choice. The scholarship will cover any unmet need the students have, including books, room and board, tuition, fees, etc. Recipients are given a computer their first year of school and are given access to college prep programs, mentoring and service opportunities. The Seinfeld Scholarship is renewable annually for four years assuming the students uphold a good academic record. Interested students can access an application at www.seinfeldscholars.com.
