ESI Professional Learning Videos

ESI creates a professional community among schools that are committed to developing and sustaining programs and practices that support increased college and career access among Black and Latino young men. Schools are using the following frameworks to guide their professional learning:

New York City Department of Education’s College and Career Readiness Benchmarks frame schools' planning, policies, and practices so that there is a cohesive plan to build a college and career going culture for all to succeed.
The Coalition of Schools Education Boys of Color (COSEBOC) has developed a self-assessment planning tool to assist schools as they develop and enhance programs serving Black and Latino young men.

ESI Symposium
At the Expanded Success Initiative Symposium, held June 21, 2012, schools selected for investment and research initiated long-term planning, generated ideas, and discussed collective improvement for the Black and Latino community.
Culturally Relevant Education Providers
In the 2013-2014 school year, ESI schools will focus on beginning or deepening a conversation about increasing college and career readiness among Black and Latino young men through more culturally relevant educational (CRE) practices. Watch this video to learn more about CRE providers.
