Mr. Ira Dobren was my Sixth grade teacher at P.S. 299. It was his second year teaching and I was in his 6-1 IGC class. Mr. Dobren was a great teacher. He expanded my thoughts on a variety of subjects. He introduced me to classical music. Every afternoon after lunch during SSR-Sustained Silent Reading- he would play classical music. I loved it! I grew a love for reading and became a classical trombonist. I was a graduate of distinction and went on to do very well in junior high and high school. I became a teacher, librarian and am now the Assistant Principal of Early childhood at P.S. 299. I want to thank Mr. Dobren for preparing me for success.
