My daughter Gabriella was a student of Mrs. Friedman last year. It was our first year in the school after moving from a small town in New Jersey. My daughter has attended school since she was four years old at small New Jersey schools. After going through a divorce, we were forced to move back to Staten Island. I decided to enroll my children in P.S. 54 because of its excellent reputation. Upon registration, I could see that my children were very nervous, but deep down I was even more nervous. Was I doing the right thing by putting themm in a big bad New York City Public School? I knew I made the right decision on the evry first day of classes. Mrs.Ffriedman took my daughter's hand and walked off with her. There were tears in Gabby's eyes as well as mine, but from that moment on I knew she would be alright. Mrs. Friedman was a kind and loving teacher throughout the year. She wiped the tears and always made my daughter smile. She is the best and Gabby will never forget her.
