On behalf of my daughter, I am thanking Ms. Herbert. Fifth grade, for my daughter, has been one of tremendous growth in her confidence, her independence, and her self assuredness. From day one she has talked non-stop about how much she loves Ms. Herbert. She has said again and again how this year is her best year yet. Much of this I attribute to the rapport she has with Ms. Herbert . She loves Ms. Herbert's wit, her personality, and how relational she is. She loves lunch in the classroom with her and all the little topics she discusses with the girls who have come to her classroom to "help" her. I know my daughter has gained knowledge thisyear, but even more importantly to me, I know she has gained confidence, relational skills, permission to be herself, independence, and a teacher that she will fondly remember forever. I imagine that Ms. Herbert will be one of those teachers my daughter remembers as a "hero" in her life.
