On behalf of my daughter, I am thanking Ms. Ottavino At first glance Ms. Ottavino is an absolutely excellent teacher. Her classroom design, her temperament towards the students, her ability to explain in understandable ways, the work she assigns, her skill to motivate, all point toward excellence. But there is much more to her than her teaching skills. She has a deep care and concern for every student in her classroom. On more than one occasion I have witnessed a deep passion and compassion for the details of her students' lives in and out of the classroom. It is quite obvious that teaching for Ms. Ottavino is not merely about instilling knowledge, but is about building character, attending to needs, developing confidence and self-worth, and loving kids. Her longevity at P.S. 39, I think about 20 years, is a testament to her commitment to and care for the students. Thank you for the individual care you show to my daughter and the immense care you show to all your students.
