Kurt Waldman, Former Math Teacher, JHS 185 Edward Bleeker

How can I thank Mr. Waldman?  Even so many years later, I still think about him and what a great teacher he was. Mr. Waldman greeted us at the door everyday with a cheery smile. During exams he walked around the room encouraging us. When we took the Regents in 1972, the lowest grade was 85. Later when I returned to college I was placed in remedial Algebra as I forgot most of what I learned. Because of what and how Mr. Waldman taught, it came back to me easily and I was one of a few students to pass. Eventually, I had to take two Statistics classes and because of the skills I aquired from Mr. Waldman, I got an A. My final GPA from Nyack College was 3.94. I hope that Mr. Waldman is enjoying his retirement. He eventually went on to be Pricipal at P.S. 24. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Mr. Waldman.
