What Is New
P.S. 138 in partnership with The Lincoln 
Center Institute, has reviewed the opera 
"Cosi Cosa" an adaptation from Wolfgang 
Amadeus Mozart.  Teachers/actors from 
Lincoln Center came to five classes to 
provide instruction to develop students’ 
appreciation for the arts.

	P.S. 138 has a girl basketball team, 
Lady Hoops. Ms. Duncan, Mr. Brown, and 
Ms. Alexander coach the team.

We now have a musical band directed by 
Mr. Lemon and a choir directed by Mr. K. 
Brown.

	During the academic school year 
2000-2001, several classes took part a 12 
week Leadership Program.  The Leadership 
Program focused on building leadership 
qualities in students through interactive 
and critical thinking games.  Students 
were encouraged to be creative while they 
collaborated in-groups.  The program 
emphasized the need for teamwork and 
aimed at teaching students to respect 
themselves as well as their peers.
