SPECIAL SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
Here are some projects we are working 
on: 
     Our school, P.S. 221, The Toussaint 
L’Ouverture School,  has an  
International Day Festival  at the end 
of each school year that we all look 
forward to. Every class chooses a 
different country, to help celebrate the 
many nations and cultures of our world. 
We research  and learn about the country 
our class picked. Then we do art 
projects, cooking projects and writing 
projects about what we learned. We make 
costumes and dress up. Our classes 
prepare performances of acting, song, 
dance, poetry and music to perform for 
the school and visitors. We have a 
parade around the community. Finally, we 
dance and perform in the street in front 
of our school. Last year we had a steel 
band too! Everybody is welcome to visit 
and party with us. Call our school in
