THE NEW YORK CITY BOARD OF EDUCATION
ELIJAH G. STROUD
Projects

There are many projects that are
currently in place at the school.

We have Ballet Tech. This program
involves a professional dance teacher
who works with selected children and
classes and teaches them dance. Some
children will go on for advanced
training
and a production will be put together
for
the enjoyment of the children, parents
and staff.

We are forming a Boy Scout troop
and it will be meeting at the school on
a
weekly basis. Of course, there are many
exciting trips, projects and events
that
are planned.

     Mr. Louis Perego from Skyline
Communities is producing another video
for us. You can learn more about this
if
you go to the What''s New section of our
Web page.

FLASH - The first edition of our
newspaper is out under the direction of
Mr. Terrance Carney. You can get a copy
at the District 17 Technology Fair on
Saturday, September 9, 2000 at M.S. 2.
For more information about the
newspaper
see our What’s New section.

     The Jackie Robinson after school
program is operating once again and we
are proud to be a major center for this
comprehensive program involving
academic,
cultural and sports activities.

     We eagerly await the Harris
project
which will wire every room in the
school
for the Internet.

Other activities that are going on
in the school include: Project 17,
Project Read, 21St Century LEAF,
Learning
Leaders, The Center for Educational
Change and alliances with Bank Street
College and Brooklyn College.
