Projects
 
	Our special features include: 
technology (modern iMac Lab), science, 
including a high school biology regents 
class, interdisciplinary and thematic 
course of study with a strong focus on 
research and independent project 
development; as well as a hands-on 
science program. We also have honor’s 
literature circle; Student Government, 
Arista Society and student yearbook 
staff, weekly school news broadcasts,and 
a student run bookstore. Our school is 
known for numerous extracurricular 
activities such as step team, Colgate 
games, P.A.L. basketball team, 
cheerleaders, and a junior tennis team. 
MS 340 has Project Arts and an annual  
multicultural festival.
 	In addition, we have six major 
community support groups: Arts Partners-
Various, Brooklyn Botanical Garden, 
Brooklyn College Center, Brooklyn 
District Attorney, NY Junior Tennis 
League and the Prospect Park Wildlife. 
Our eighth graders are involved in 
Network Helpers Inc., a very special 
community service program. The Helpers 
Promoting Literacy Program presents the 
opportunity for young adolescents to 
read material at their own appropriate 
challenge level for the authentic 
purpose of exposing primary age children 
to the books, stores and written 
language they need for building their 
literacy foundation.
