What we will talk about
During this session, participants will learn about transition planning and postsecondary readiness for students with disabilities. This includes a robust discussion of measurable postsecondary goals, annual goals, and transition planning in elementary, middle, and high school. Participants will also learn about available support from their schools and central offices.

- Explore specialized autism programs such as Nest, Horizon, and AIMS, which focus on enhancing academic, communication, and social skills for autistic learners, supported by comprehensive training and collaborative efforts involving caregivers.
- Learn about the Academics, Career, and Essential Skills Program (ACES), designed for holistic student development across Districts 1-32, emphasizing modified academic frameworks and individualized support.
- Hear about Bilingual Special Education (BSE) for English Language Learners, the IREAD Program and South Bronx Literacy Academy addressing reading struggles, the Path program for social and emotional support, and Inclusive Educational Programs for students currently attending District 75.

What we will talk about
The Impartial Hearing Order Implementation Unit (IHOIU) of the Office of the General Counsel and the Bureau of Non-Public School Payables (BNPSP) of the Division of Financial Operations is providing this training for parents and parent representatives to learn about the implementation process. Once an impartial hearing order is issued by an impartial hearing officer and transmitted to the DOE, the process of implementation for awarded services and payments begins. We will talk about the steps that parents and parent representatives can take to support a smooth implementation process, including the submission of information and supporting documents.
