POSITION:                 

Teacher

Coordinator for MetHD Live In Schools Broadcast Series

Up to 15 Positions Total

 

LOCATION:                

Various citywide sites in NYCDOE schools

 

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:          

New York City Department of Education licensed teacher currently assigned as a teacher of music

 

 

SELECTION CRITERIA: 

  1. Holds active New York State teaching certificate in Music
  2. Minimum three years’ satisfactory experience coordinating NYCDOE music programs and organizing performances
  3. Able to work collaboratively with teacher colleagues and program supervisors
  4. Demonstrated evidence of strong leadership skills
  5. Effective or Highly Effective ratings in Advance for the past three years while teaching in NYCDOE instrumental or choral music programs, high school-level preferred
  6. Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  7. Documented record of excellent attendance and punctuality
  8. Demonstrated ability to communicate in a professional, clear, timely, and transparent manner, in speech and in writing, to exercise sound professional judgment, and to display professionalism, positivity, and respect in all ways at all times 
  9. Proficiency using cloud-based Office 365 applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Forms

 

 

Note: Applicants for per session employment who are not employed in the Department of Education’s regular school program or adult education program shall be considered for selection only if no qualified day school teacher or adult education employee is available.

 

 


 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Coordinate with building support to ensure successful setup of MetHD Live in Schools broadcast, including setup of projection and audio system
  2. Oversee attendance, in both lobby and audience seating area, throughout the performance
  3. Assist program administrators with student attendance recruitment
  4. Maintain communication with student participants and families
  5. Prepare and submit payroll for program staff
  6. Ensure professional, timely reporting of incidents to school security, school administration, and/or Director of Music, as needed, and perform all requested follow-up actions and communications while maintaining necessary confidentiality
  7. Carry out additional duties, as needed, for the efficient operation of the program

 

 

WORK SCHEDULE:   

July 2024-August 2024

Weekend hours as needed, dates and times to be determined

Up to 20 hours total per position

 

 

SALARY:                  

Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (UFT, CSA, DC-37 - Collective Bargaining Agreement).  Contingent Upon Funding Availability.
