POSITION:

Admin: Principal/Assistant Principals

Periodic Assessment Professional Learning and/or Focus Group Sessions

Administrators to participate in Periodic Assessment professional learning and/or focus groups in support of various Periodic Assessment programs, such as NYC Performance Tasks, Acadience, MAP Growth, ELL/ML/HLA assessments, etc. (approximately 100 positions)

 

LOCATION:

65 Court Street, Room 225, Brooklyn, NY 11201

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

NYC Department of Education licensed and appointed principals and assistant principals. 

 

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Interest in and use of performance-based assessments and screener assessments
  • Strong understanding of specific content instruction and/or high-quality assessments
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of the Next Generation Learning Standards and/or subject-area standards
  • Experience working on and facilitating teacher teams
  • Experience engaging in collaborative inquiry
  • Commitment to attending all sessions per subject area
  • For HLA Applicants: Fluent/literate in either Spanish or Chinese (Traditional or Simplified)

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend a series of sessions (approximately 2-4 sessions, depending on subject area)
  • Share experience and knowledge of student populations, grade-specific standards, and subject areas of expertise
  • Review and provide feedback on draft assessment materials
  • Communicate with facilitators via email and phone as necessary
  • Actively participate in all sessions

 

WORK SCHEDULE:

July 1, 2024 through August 30, 2024 up to 6 hours per session. Exact dates and times to be determined, work hours may be after school or during school breaks between the hours 7:00am to 7:00pm, not including regular work hours. In order to maintain continuity and consistency, applicants must be available for the full activity in order to accept the position.

 

Hours up to, but not limited to the approximate number of hours listed. Additional hours may be granted upon the approval of the hiring manager.

 

SALARY:

Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent upon funding availability and programmatic approval.
