POSITION:                 

Preschool Special Education Office – Preschool Special Education Support Staff (3 positions)

Teacher Assigned A

 

LOCATION:                

1780 Ocean Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11230

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:          

NYCDOE Licensed and Appointed Teachers that have knowledge and/or certifications in preschool special education and a knowledge of the preschool special education provider community in New York City.

                                                                                         

SELECTION CRITERIA: 

Applicants will be selected based on their (a) knowledge of New York City’s standards and goals for preschool special education, (b) experience analyzing data and presenting the results of that analysis, (c) background in quality assurance, quality reviews and/or other activities to monitor and evaluate the activities of multiple programs and (d) an understanding of laws and regulations for special education in New York State.

 

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:            

Applicants will be responsible for a variety of duties including, but not limited to, (a) collection and analysis of citywide preschool special education data, (b) visiting/conducting desk reviews of preschool special education programs in order to determine whether they are meeting the needs articulated on student Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), (c) reviewing applications by preschool special education programs for supplemental funding, and (d) other duties.

 

WORK SCHEDULE:   

As needed week days (M-F) during the summer between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.  Staff could work fewer than five days per week.

 

Hours up to, but not limited to the approximate number of hours listed. Additional hours may be granted upon the approval of the hiring manager.

 

SALARY:

Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent upon funding availability and programmatic approval.
