ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Valid New York State Certificate in School Administration/Supervision (SAS), School District Administrator (SDA) or in School Building Leadership (SBL). Please visit https://www.nycenet.edu/offices/DHR/rms/ext/res/HomeHRMS.aspx to obtain a Certificate of Eligibility.          

 

SELECTION CRITERIA: 

· Minimum of five (5) years of satisfactory teaching experience with students with disabilities.

· Minimum of two (2) years satisfactory administrative experience, including provision of services and programs for students with disabilities

· Strong knowledge of New York State laws relating to the provision of instruction and services to general and special education students.

· Deep knowledge of creating and implementing quality IEPs

· Proven experience in executing and resolving SED corrective action plans (CAPs), policies, and procedures, as well as resolution of UFT school-based escalations

· Ability to advance complex agendas, build effective collegial relationships and manage multiple priorities effectively.

· Ability to problem-solve, take initiative, make sound decisions

· Experience researching, organizing, and conducting professional development pertaining to delivery of special education programs and services.

· Collaborative approach to managing projects and activities.

· Knowledgeable about DOE’s Shared Path to Success Initiative and the implementation of related transformative school wide practice.

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform duties and responsibilities of regular permanent assignment.
  • Provide District Superintendents and their teams with guidance and technical assistance pertaining to local, state, and federal special education regulations.

WORK SCHEDULE:   

Up to 10 hours, Monday through Friday, at the conclusion of regularly scheduled workday.

 

HOURS UP TO, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE APPROXIMATE NUMBER OF HOURS LISTED. ADDITIONAL HOURS GRANTED UPON THE APPROVAL OF THE HIRING MANAGER.

 

SALARY:                  

Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (UFT, CSA, DC-37 - Collective Bargaining Agreement).  Contingent Upon Funding Availability.
