Application for NYCPS Central Assistive Technology Team Evaluators (Summer 2024)

There are additional opportunities for Central Assistive Technology Team (CAT) members to work during the summer.

DEPT: Office of Related Services / Central Assistive Technology Team

 

SUPERVISORS:

Program Supervisor: David Carroca, Colleen Warn, Lindsey Huntley

Site Supervisors will vary based on location

 

LOCATION:

Various

D1-32 schools

CSE offices in all 5 boroughs

CAT Office – 28-11 Queens Plaza North, Room 508-510; Long Island City, NY 11101

D75 AT Office: 400 First Ave, Room 554, New York, NY 10010

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current NYC DOE Licensed and appointed Teacher of Speech Improvement 
  • Satisfactory rating for current school year 

 

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Must have at least 2 years of AAC Evaluation Experience 
  • Preference given to current members on the AT Team 

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct In-Person AT/AAC assessments, In-Person AT trainings for staff and students, develop training materials, resources and assist with other CAT Team related tasks
  • Maintain necessary and timely records, including SESIS documentation 
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping documentation 
  • Timely submission of AT Evaluation reports and related documents 
  • Communication with families and the CAT team office regarding scheduling of services and follow up on progress 

 

WORK SCHEDULE:

Position hours will be between the hours of 8:10 AM and 2:40 AM from July 1st-August 16, 2024(except July 4th). Staff will be paid for a total of 6 hours and must take a 30 min unpaid lunch break. Mandatory orientation, training and site set-up for staff only, will take place on July 1st 8:10 AM-2:40 PM  (Therapists selected to work the CAT team may not concurrently work for D1-32 RS Summer 2024 or D75 RS (OT/PT) Summer 2024 or SEED Summer 2024 (OT/PT) or PRE-K Summer 2024 Programs.

 

Hours up to, but not limited to the approximate number of hours listed. Additional hours may be granted upon the approval of the hiring manager.

 

SALARY:

Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent upon funding availability and programmatic approval.
