POSITION:

TEACHER ASSIGNED - ACADEMIC INTERVENTION SERVICES COORDINATOR (K-5, K-6-12)

( POSITION FOR ONE YEAR)

 

LOCATION:

SUPERINTENDENT OFFICE

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must possess a valid New York State teaching certificate and a New York City license in one of the following areas.

Tenure is preferred

Early Childhood Education (birth-grade 2)

 Childhood Education (Common Branch) (grades 1-6) OR Secondary Education (7-12)

 

SELECTION CRITERIA:

At least eight years of successful teaching experience working in schools with significant experience in elementary schools or experience as a Universal Literacy Coach.

A minimum of three years of satisfactory, effective, or highly effective ratings.

Strong knowledge of teacher development.

 

DUTIES/KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Academic Intervention Services Coordinator is responsible for working with school leaders and teaching staff in implementing, utilizing, and making educationally appropriate decisions regarding student instruction.

During the 2024-2025 school year, can work with schools in the administration and completion of dyslexia screening.

Facilitates data review meetings three times per year at each school in the district, based
